Who’s on your team?
As a clinician, healer, entrepreneur, parent… people are going to share their well-intentioned advice with us.
It is essential, then, to know who we consider to be our trusted sources of counsel and support. Only they will be the ones to help us design and live the life we dream of.
And yet, our mind steers us toward sources of opinions that only serve to keep us small and safe.
This is why we ask our by-the-book clinical supervisor their thoughts about meditation or ancestors, and our workaholic parents about self-care and balance, unconsciously already knowing what their answers will be.
Our mind wants to stay safe, stay the course.
It is vital to intentionally surround ourselves with voices that align with our values. It may be a trusted friend or colleague, a podcast, or a book. Here are just a few of my favorite personal sources for inspiration and grounding:
Magic Lessons podcast by Elizabeth Gilbert
Notes from the Universe daily email by Mike Dooley
Lisa Zimmerman’s Weekly Astrology Bulletin email newsletter
Impact the World podcast by Lee Harris
Talks and meditations by Tara Brach, PhD
Anything by Davidji (also on Insight Timer)
Keep in mind that for all information received, even those trusted sources of counsel, if it is not a "full body yes"... it can be a polite "no thank you."
You are the one living your life.
Let’s make it an awesome one.
Namaste,
Caitlin
P.S. Today, June 14th, 2022, is a Full Moon and the halfway point of the lunar calendar. It can be a beautiful time to reflect with gratitude on the past six months while looking ahead to set intentions for the rest of the year.
